Not much goes on in sleepy little Galveston… a few acts down at the Grand 1894 Opera House, etc., but other than that not much.
BB King was in town at the end of last week. I hear he is not going to tour anymore and so this was his last time to play music in Galveston. I did not get to see him this time around, but have seen him play two times before.
I am looking into some jazz worth going to up into Houston for in the month of July. I’ll put a list of my favorite musicians up soon.
Pine nuts are a good nut to use. Either that or blanched almonds. I have run out of nuts, but we will add some tonight.
My first attempt at blogging. I will give this technology a try… On this blog I will put informatin about my backyard butterfly garden, along with some photos once I figure out how to post them. And recipes once I test them in the kitchen and on guests… lucky victims! I can tell you that the basil crop is a bumper one this year and I have put together the best pesto this season with much more to come.
One thing to watch for… I am teaching Mark to make pesto and since we are out of almonds he suggested adding peanut butter to the pesto (cringe go my taste buds… ) It’s not happening, so not to worry.
